F#@K Cancer, Spread Beauty Round 7
Donation protected
Cancer sucks. I know. I was diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer about seven years ago, shortly after my daughter’s first birthday. I received infusion-based treatment for a year and experienced how tough it can be to spend long hours in treatment tethered to an IV pole, especially during the holiday season. Additionally, the status of our world makes navigating health challenges even harder. Individuals currently undergoing treatment are also grappling with economic challenges, uncertainty regarding healthcare access and coverage, and the loss and trauma associated with ongoing wars.
My experience with cancer would have been more difficult had it not been for the support that I received from friends, family, and colleagues, near and far. Sometimes it's the little gestures that provide the perfect pick-me-up on a challenging day. Now that I'm in the survivor phase, I'm again teaming up with some friends to pay it forward. We are excited to launch round 7 of F#@k Cancer, Spread Beauty. We are planning to give bath & body items made from natural, planet-friendly ingredients to people undergoing cancer treatment this holiday season. Our hope is that these products help soothe some of the skin-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. Over the past six years, we have donated 1500+ clean beauty kits to individuals receiving treatment at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Mercy, and Johns Hopkins, as well as those residing at the Ulman House.
If you would like to support this cause, please make a direct donation through GoFundMe by Sunday, December 8th, 2024.
