My Name is Arlene Johnston and i would like to raise awareness of a tragic vile incident that hit our community on the 25th of January. As you can see by the video i have uploaded, a poor woman was robbed of her hard earn money, never mind her independence, in the matter of seconds her life was turned upside down, but before i continue i would like to share with you a taste of whom i am setting this page up for.
Her name is Mary McDonald she is the kindest most loving good natured lady you could ever have the chance of meeting, always willing to go out of her way to help others in any way means, Mary had to face many challenges in life, as a young woman she was faced to rare her five children the youngest been 6 month old daughter alone after she lost her husband in a tragic accident, Mary went back to work and made sure her children never went with out, all now with beautiful families of their own, just when things was starting to become easier for her she decided to renovate her garage and let her young daughter move into the family home with her husband and 2 children, so construction began,
Mary spent every hour working and saving hard in order to have this renovation happen. and unbeknown to herself she became the target of a brutal act, when she headed to the bank to collect money to pay the builders, she collected £4200 from her bank account and on her way home she stopped at an Atm in spar to take her wages out and buy the usual bread, milk etc. Where these men parked up beside Mary's car and waited 15 minutes for her to return to her car. These men followed her car from Newry to the Spar shop in Cloughoue.
As you can see in the video when she was jumping into her car to drive off, a disgusting excuse of a human being snatched her handbag with all her savings in it and a number of sentimental items which will never be replaced. She tried to run after them but there no chance of stopping these men they sped off down the road. More worrying than this was that these people then turned up to Mary's home on the Saturday evening. They pulled up at the side of the house and turned their car head lights off when they spotted Mary's Daughter out the back. They were chased down the road but again got away with their erratic driving. This has been a scary experience enough, without them now coming to the family home, everyone is on high alert in case they decide to come back again. This has been a brutal attack on a poor woman, its not just the loss of the money and items but this has also affected her mentally, because of this attack Mary collapsed due to the shock of what happened. Mary relives this horror over and over i only hope that people will donate and help this absolute lady out.
