Our friend, friend to us all, Seveci took us to his village in the Yasawa Islands today. The people of his village have very little but what they did have they gave so freely. To feed the village they have a small farm where there is no machinery but all farmed by hand. Whatever they have spare they used to sell on the mainland. The island is about 100km from Denerau. About 300 people live in his village, and there are 2 other similar sized villages around the same bay. A few years ago, their lifeline to the mainland; their village boat that allows them to sell what they grow and travel to the mainland for healthcare and many other things- broke down. The boat broke down over Covid and is sitting at a port on the mainland where- when they can afford to- they visit to patch it up and try and protect it from the ravages of the sea while kind of waiting for a miracle for the actual repairs to be made. Please help us work this miracle and deliver back to Seveci’s village the lifeline that has been lost for too long so the village can gain back its independence and agency.
