First ever 10k in aid of children of alcoholics.
I have never run a race in my life. In fact I’ve never run much at all unless it was on a rugby pitch. I have challenged myself to run the Stafford 10k to raise money for Nacoa. As a child of an alcoholic I know the difficulties children face growing up with a parent that struggles with alcoholism. My mother has recently been diagnosed with liver failure due to her drinking and I wish I had known about Nacoa before now. I feel it is hard for children (even in adulthood) to speak about this issue and I want to raise money and awareness for this charity. I am thankful for you even reading this and if this brings some more eyes to this charity and helps someone then I will be happy. I understand times are hard and I am grateful for any support be it a donation or some words of support. Please read below for a bit more about Nacoa.
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Nacoa (National Association for Children of Alcoholics) and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
More information about Nacoa (National Association for Children of Alcoholics): The National Association for Children of Alcoholics (Nacoa) is a registered charity (No. 1009143), founded in 1990 to address the needs of children growing up in families where one or both parents suffer from alcoholism or a similar addictive problem. This includes children of all ages, many of whose problems only become apparent in adulthood.
