I am a healthcare worker and a mother who never imagined I would be in this position. I was fired for expressing my personal views outside of work and on my own time, something protected under the First Amendment. In an instant, my family’s stability was taken away.

I am now trying to support my household on one income, while caring for my children—one who is on the autism spectrum and a teenage daughter.

This sudden loss of income has brought fear, stress, and uncertainty into our home.
