Fires , Floods, Evacuations and now divorce Help my family

Hi My Name is Christine Abbott, this is not something I ever thought I would ever have to do for my little family.

We were at 917 main street on June 30, 2021 ,, three grandchildren , 3 dogs,

Myself and our little family escaped the fire,, the three grandchildren went home to their mother after some time , we were evacuated to Kamloops BC.

I lost everything,, EVERYTHING ,, my home based business , my life was never the same i thought it would be,, I am supposed to be moving into brand new home , I was supposed to be starting my business up again, now instead its looking for a place to live to keep my grandchildren with their friends, school and families they have grown to love..

I have gone from being married , to now not ,, my husband of 15 years , together

for 18 ,, chose to leave our family unit , while being evacuated still yet and living in a recovery home.

He chose to leave on March 21 2025 ,, two months ago.

two years ago ,, My grandchildren were apprehended from their mother , my daughter, for the multiple time,, my ex and i have been raising the grandchildren for 17 years...

In January of this year after so much effort and work by the ministry,, I have gained full Permanent Guardianship of the 3 grandchildren.

One. 18,, about to graduate , a fire fighter and has over came extreme odds..

12,, a young musician ,, loves to hunt and fish,, his poppa taught him well.. sad he will have to leave his school the 4th school i believe this young man has had to change his life over and over again .

9 years old ,, a little ballerina, dancer , crafter extremely talented young little girl,

now she will have to leave her friends , school and pretty much the only stable home she's ever known.

The man who left me raised these children,,

Now ,, with a new job , new raise and about to walk into his new home,, we are going to be evicted from the recovery home the band has provided for us for the last two years.

I had an rv,, sold it for 1500 $ I had a fifth wheel ,, sold it .. 1500 $ ,, all to pay bills , after supporting my ex getting a Bachelors degree, living off grid driving vehicles into the ground,, leaving job after job ..only to

now we will be homeless with no rv no fifth wheel..

there is no way around it.. We are not members of this community and i have been told to apply for welfare and figure it out.

storage alone is $500, for all the furniture i have purchased to put into what I thought I was going to be living in,, now i have to put it in storage.

The lawyers fees alone to get a Good Lawyer who understand First Nations Law ,, that is not available by legal aid.. we are in deep in debt ..

I had to take disability,, go on stress leave to manage all the court dates,, all the trials and tribulations one goes thru to protect young children.

My grand children were living in a tent .. we , I my ex husband told our grandchildren they would have their own rooms again,, the dogs would have a lovely yard,, now we have to get rid of the large dog we have all grown to love and to boot ,, I have a Chinese pug ready to give birth any day.

We are asking the publics help with funds to be able to purchase an rv so we are not left homeless,, I had a home based business in Lytton ,, now I will not be able to get the Pacifican Grant to rebuild my business , there is no rentals in Lytton as the entire town burned to the ground and is now rebuilding.
