Hello, my name is Brooke, and I’ve had the profound honor of working with Bruns and Romina fir many years, These curanderos dedicate their lives to preserving ancient traditions and offering healings to those who come.

Yesterday during my dieta, tragedy struck Pompiri when a devastating fire tore through their land, destroying much of the surrounding jungle (la selva), including their property and sacred spaces. The damage has left them with enormous challenges as they work to clear the debris and rebuild their maloka, which is central to their healing practice. They also need to create new water access points to prevent future disasters from hitting their community so hard.

The jungle is not only their home but a sanctuary for those who come to heal. Without the resources to rebuild, Bruns and Romina are at risk of losing their ability to continue this sacred work. They need urgent help to restore their land, clear the damage, and rebuild the maloka, which is essential for holding ceremonies and offering the healing that so many rely on.
