Hi, I'm Orlando McCollum Jr. I am raising funds to move to the Philippines to be with my partner of 4 years. A portion of the donations will also help my partner and i build a simple home in the Philippines. At the age of 64, I was fired from my job of 10 years as a chef. I was planning to retire soon and move to the Philippines to be with my love. They said they were moving in a different direction (younger chefs) and they were letting me go. This happened on May 16, 2025.

On top of that, my rent as of July 1st will be $100 more per month. I applied for unemployment and decided not to renew my lease, which is up in July. I'm in the process of selling everything I own, then moving in with my best friend. This situation has forced me into early retirement. Now I have to expedite my move. I've applied for a few jobs, but no one is willing to hire a 64-year-old chef who is a year away from retirement. All I want is to be with him.
