This GoFundMe is to help out a couple of friends and their kids. They are very humble and are not the kind that ask for help. I am doing this because I believe it’s okay to need help and to receive it.

Last Friday, June 13th, 2025, a fire started and took all their belongings. The cause is still under review; however, they are suspecting a lawn mower battery to have been what started the fire.

Currently, they have Progressive Insurance for their renters insurance and have been loyal customers for about 10 years. The insurance company is denying their claim due to a mix-up with the address.

They have three young girls, Kiara, 12, Elliana, 5, and Brelynn, 4, to care for as well as themselves.

On top of losing their place to live and all of their belongings, Kourtney was injured while trying to escape for a second time. She had reentered the home for one of the girls who wasn’t outside when she got outside. Kourtney broke her ankle jumping down from the only exit she could get to. She underwent surgery that same day.

I’ve known Joey and Kourtney a very long time, probably 20 years or more. Anything will help; a little can go a long way.
