Fire Recovery for South Shore Sports Center
Donation protected
Hello everyone, I’m a parent of two daughters who were former players in the Select Soccer Club. In addition, I personally played soccer at the South Shore Sports Center from the age of 19 until just a few years ago. (No need to advertise how old I am.) Today, I’m reaching out on behalf of a large group of parents and Sports Center community supporters with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit.
Late on June 26th, a devastating fire tore through the South Shore Sports Center. Thankfully, no one was hurt. The building, however, a beloved community hub for over 25 years, suffered significant damage. Many parents and players, regardless of age, call or at one time called the Sports Center their second home.
If you're part of the Sports Center or Select Soccer community, you know that this center wasn’t just about soccer fields and training sessions. It was where many children grew up, it hosted adults who played games late into the night, and most importantly, where true friendships were built. This space nurtured joy, belonging, and character.
Today we need your help.
Despite the damage, Select Soccer Club remains fully operational, moving swiftly to alternative locations to ensure children can continue their development without pause. However, the road to recovery for the Sports Center is long and costly.
We’re rallying support to help rebuild and restore the South Shore Sports Center and to ensure continued training and development opportunities for our athletes.
Please consider donating — every dollar brings them one step closer to recovery. If you’re not able to give, sharing this campaign means the world. Together, as a community, we can support those who have helped run this beacon of a sports complex which has served many all in the name of athletics.
Whether you’re a current or past player, parent of a player — thank you for being part of the South Shore Sports Center and Select Soccer family.
With Gratitude
