When the smoke alarm went off this past Sunday evening,  Dan was upstairs ... his first thought was "Who is burning toast?".  Until he went downstairs and saw the smoke coming up from the basement.  Dan quickly got everyone out of the house and into his truck while he called 911.  That evening,  Sunday, February 7th,  a fire  had started in the basement of my nephew Dan's "new to him" home in Lakeside - Duluth.  He has only lived in the home for 4 short months. Damages have not been fully assessed yet; however, pretty much everything  on all three floors  has been burnt or damaged by smoke and/or water.  The home is not habitable.  Dan and his friend - Erin, and her daughter -  Elliette (11 years old),  are currently staying with his parents in Cloquet. 
When a house fire strikes, it doesn't only  destroy the property but also leaves them feeling powerless and vulnerable. They've not lost every single little thing, but they have lost much of what they've accumulated over their lifetime.   And if you're anything like me, you are  wondering how you can help.  That's why I started this Go Fund Me Page for my Godson who I love dearly.
