Finlayson Memorial Golf Tournament
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Canadian Mental Health Association of NB, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
On July 4th, 2023, a dear friend of ours decided to end his life the way he lived it, on his own terms. With this tournament, we hope to honor Chris Finlayson of Riverview, NB and to bring together the golf community of Fredericton in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association. We hope to strike up conversations and bring awareness to the unfortunate and stigmatized truth that mental health affects us all.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 with all net proceeds being donated directly to the Canadian Mental Health Association in support of their Talk Suicide Canada program, their BounceBack program, and other programs that are needed to educate and support our communities.
Moving forward, with the help from people like you, we hope to strengthen not only the mental health support in Fredericton, but in New Brunswick as a whole. Your involvement and support can go a long way and have a positive impact on available resources helping to end the stigma. 4,000 Canadians die by suicide ever year and it’s time to start talking about it.
We would like to thank the Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick for allowing us to put this tournament on in support of their daily efforts to help everyone across this province with their mental health. After 72 years, CMHA of NB stands strong among the oldest and most revered charities in New Brunswick. As the province-wide leader and champion for mental health, CMHA of NB promotes the mental health of all and supports the resilience and recovery of people experiencing mental illness. CMHA of NB accomplishes this mission through advocacy, education, research, and service.
We thank you all for participating and sponsoring this event! Our goal is for this to be a yearly event where we can come together and support the community we live in and break the stigma.
