Finglas To Howth Summit 25 In Aid Of Finglas Suicide Network
Donation protected
Hi all my name is Fred, and I own FITT Gym based in Finglas Village.
Every year we host our summer half marathon from Finglas village to Howth Summit in aid of Finglas Suicide Prevention Network.
The event will take place this year on July 19th and will be our 5th annual event in aid of FSN. In year one we raised €13,560, year two €17,526, year three €24,800 and last year we raised €30,450 for the charity.
This year, we're setting a target of €35,000 and we already have 650 people registered to walk, run and cycle to help us reach our target & raise awareness for a much-needed charity in our community.
Finglas Suicide Network is based locally in Mellows Court Finglas West. FSN is a non-governmental support network that delivers affordable counselling for the price of a small donation. FSN focuses on improving the mental well-being of the community, with a particular emphasis on supporting people at risk of suicide. FSN seeks to raise awareness around suicide prevention by offering positive life skills alternatives, so suicide is not used as a definitive solution for resolvable life’s difficulties. This is an essential and much needed service within our community given the significantly high rate of suicide in the Finglas area.
Unfortunately not everyone gets to choose the challenges they face but hopefully by us completing this one challenge it can help someone with theirs.
Lets show we can get through challenges together while raising awareness and much needed funds for a great voluntary organisation.
