Finding Carlos, my son.
Fifteen months ago, my son disappeared. He is one of more than 132,000 people currently missing in Mexico... most of them victims of organized crime, most of them never found.
I did everything a parent is supposed to do. I went to the authorities. I filed every report. I gave my own DNA so it could be compared against the national database. Fifteen months later, that database has returned nothing.
The Mexican government has been unable to find my son. The investigations go cold. The silence grows. And families like mine are left carrying a weight that never lifts...emotionally, and financially.
I am his father. I am still standing. And I refuse to stop looking.
I am raising funds to hire private forensic specialists and investigators ... people with the tools and the experience to go where the authorities have not. This is not a small amount of money by any standard, and for a family in Mexico, it represents everything we have left to give.
I am not asking for pity. I am asking for help finding my son, or at the very least, for the truth of what happened to him, so that we can give him the dignity he deserves.
If even one family in Mexico sees this and finds the courage to keep searching, then this will have meant something beyond our own grief.
His name is Carlos He has a 10-year-old little girl who's asking for his daddy. He deserves to be found.
