Financial support for William’s Neuroblastoma

William was admitted to hospital on the 26/8/2020 with suspected Appendicitis. The following day on ultrasound scan, a large mass measuring 12x8cm was found on William’s right adrenal gland. Due to the nature of the growth, it was discovered William has a cancer known as Neuroblastoma. This is a cancer commonly found in young infants. Due to William’s age, it is quite uncommon and rare to find. William was admitted to Westmead children’s hospital where he has undergone many extensive tests to find out the full nature of his Neuroblastoma. Upon taking a MIBG Nuclear Radioactive scan, they’ve discovered that the Neuroblastoma has grown around an important artery that carries important blood to William’s heart and liver. This will mean that William’s future surgery is going to be more complex, and will require more specialised treatment.

Due to the need for medical care at Westmead children’s hospital, Williams close family (mum, step dad and siblings) have been staying in accomodation at the Ronald McDonald house.Whilst this accomodation has been exempt of fee’s, Alisha and Scott have both had to leave their jobs to care full time for William and his siblings. This has come at a great cost to their employment and finances, as they still have to maintain bills back in Canberra. 

We have opened a gofund me account, however we do not expect people to donate if they don’t want to. We have had offers of help, and this feels like the most practical way to receive help, so we can continue to support William throughout his treatment. I reiterate, we dont expect help, this is just for those that would like to.
