Financial support for Max and family Besic

Rainbows remind us that even after the darkest of clouds, and fiercest winds, there is still beauty. Max, you are the rainbow that adds colors to everybody’s gray skies!

Max suddenly started experiencing what the family thought was a normal childhood virus or cold. After a couple of follow-up visits to the doctor that week, his symptoms were not getting better. He then was admitted to the Emergency Room at Lutheran General Hospital, where the pediatric doctor confirmed after several tests that he has Leukemia. Max was immediately admitted to the hospital to meet with the doctors and begin a treatment plan. His parents, Dina and Senad, will be by his side through this journey and are optimistic that Max will continue to fight hard.

He has been and will continue to be, in the hospital the next month, undergoing treatments and other medical procedures.

The Besic family has made every sacrifice to be there for Max thus far and will continue to do whatever it takes to be by his side through it all. Senad and Dina are both taking time away from their jobs to support and care for Max and be there for his treatments.

Relieving them of the financial strain of current and future out-of-pocket medical expenses will allow the family to focus on Max’s continued treatment, healing, and recovery. Having a child with cancer comes with many predictable stressors, both emotional and financial, and also many unforeseen and unexpected costs.

We are asking for your help with great humility and gratitude. Your donation will assist not only with medical and family expenses but also with finding ways to bring joy to Max during this challenge - a challenge that no child should have to face. If you wish to provide meals for the family, you can have them delivered to Lutheran General Children’s Hospital.

Please pray for Max's health, and for the entire Besic family to have strength, as this is by far, the greatest gift you can give. God is good, and we know he will protect and give strength to Max and his family throughout this tough journey.
