Hi, my name is Alexis Rhodes. I'm a mom of 3 little girls, a 6-year-old, 2-year-old, and 2-month-old. My family recently moved out on our own, and since moving, we have experienced health issue after health issue.
I was put on bed rest in early July due to dilation too early in my pregnancy. Our daughter was born on July 24th. During this time, we relied solely on my husband's income to pay our bills and provide for our family. On July 13th, my husband's job, Betty Gene’s suffered a devastating fire that destroyed the building and left the employees out of work for about 2 weeks until the pop-up location was ready. He started back working at the new Betty Gene’s location, and a month later, on September 6th, he was hospitalized and had to have his appendix removed, which left him out of work for another week. He returned to work only to be hospitalized again and had to have a drain tube put into his side to drain an infection that had formed in his abdomen. He has now been out of work for almost 3 weeks again.
While I returned to work in early September, I do not make enough money to pay all our bills and provide basic needs for our family. We have had to borrow money from family members to pay our rent and buy our children new clothes for the changing seasons.
Dustin should be able to return to work on September 29th after his tube is removed on the 26th. But as I said, I don’t make enough money to pay daycare expenses every
week and rent for this month. With him missing so much work, bills are starting to pile up, and now we are anticipating medical bills from both Athens Piedmont and Walton Piedmont, where he had both surgeries.
any little bit will help to get us caught up on our bills. We appreciate everyone who has prayed for us during our difficult time also. We truly love every one of you.
