Last year I lost my friend to a rare cancer at 33 years of age.
She left behind two little babies Jack & Maddison aged 4yrs and 1 yr old at the time.
A short 6 months later they lost their dad to suicide.
Cassies amazing sister Sara has taken on Jack and Maddison as her own which now brings their blended family to a total of 9 (2 adults and 7 children).
At Such a horrible and sad time for their family, they have also been faced with ongoing financial stress, with no support from the government as it was a ‘family arrangement’ prior to Cass passing.
In order to receive help from DCS - Sarah needed to drop the kids off with a bag after her sisters passing to DCS for them to then decide best cause of action for the kids.. As you can imagine, that was not an option for the already extremely young and confused children after such a traumatic event.
sara is currently appealing to her local member of parliament for help, and is in the midst of a constant back and forth.
making things much more stressful during an already extremely difficult time, they are also faced with the cost of therapy for the children, child care, psychologists, and footing the entire bill for ongoing services to ensure the kids mental health needs are met after a very traumatic year with losing both parents.
To help raise much needed money to assist Sara and the children, I have decided to shave my head when we hit our target of 10k.
All money raised goes directly to Cass's sister Sara to assist in the raising and ongoing care of Cass's babies.
