Here is an update :

Last week, our Nephew Alfred E Rodriguez was given a Heros send off at the Palmdale Regional Hospital. The medical staff lined the pathway to the operating room where his organs would be taken. This is known as the Honor Walk for the Organ Donor, their family and the care team who has supported the family. As Alfred is rolled down the pathway to the bright lights of the operating room the staff applauds to honor his generosity as a donor for sharing the gift of life. It was such a heartfelt Beautiful moment.

We still need to wait for the finalization of paperwork. Which, unfortunately could be a couple weeks before we will be able to have Alfred’s Final services. We want to thank those of you that have donated, and to those of you that have prayed for Alfred and our family.

Hi, my name is Audrey Torres and I am fundraising for my sister, Vivian Rodriguez and family.

Financial hardship for family dealing with their 31-year old son on life support as they wait for his organs to be donated .

On the afternoon of Thursday, February 16th, 2023, Vivian and Philip Rodriguez, my sister and brother-in-law, received the call that no parent should ever have to endure. The news that their youngest son, Alfred Rodriguez, 31 years of age, was found unresponsive and was being placed on life support.

As they prepared to let him go, information was communicated that, back in 2017, Alfred had decided, and registered to be an organ donor.

Alfred’s decision has made it very difficult for his parents and the family to move forward with allowing him to pass away quietly, and it has truly added to the grieving process, however, due to his organ donation decision, there is comfort in knowing that there is a chance that he will be able to give a gift of life to one or more individuals.

As my sister Vivian waits for the testing and donors to be notified, she will remain by her son Alfred’s side. Our hearts are broken as this has all happened so abruptly and we have all been on an emotional rollercoaster.

We are in desperate need of immediate financial assistance. We humbly ask for any donations as we prepare to lay this young man to his final resting place. We would be truly grateful for any support you are able to give.
