Financial assistance for the Stephens-Rima family

2020 has been a tough year for everyone, but it has hit some worse than others. The Stephens-Rima family have definitely learned that: Nine members of the family tested positive for Covid. Not only did it devastate their health, but it also drained their financial resources. At this point, they're having significant difficulties paying their medical bills, grocery costs, utilities, and are on the verge of losing their housing. 


It's absurd that in the richest country in the world, a pandemic can destroy someone's life this way. Keeping its citizens safe, healthy, fed, and housed should be a primary objective for the state in the best of times - and doubly so during a crisis of this magnitude. But, since our society is structured for the benefit of the rich rather than the rest of us, the Stephens-Rima family finds themselves in this situation. 


And so it is up to us as members of this community to prove that we can come together and help our neighbors.


Over the next week, DSA Fresno will be collecting funds to give to the Stephens-Rimas. 100% of the donations will go directly to the family.
