Before the war, Ghada Reyad and her children were living a beautiful life in Gaza.

“I studied economics at university and graduated just one month before the war. (...) On my first day of applying for work as an administrative assistant, the war broke out and the dreams ended.”

Due to the chaos of war and the relentless Israel offensive on Gaza since October 2023, Ghada Reyad and her children were forced to leave their homes, and they have been refugees in a camp in Rafah, southern Gaza, since December 28th, 2023. Ghada Reyad and her children have been living together in a tent made of nylon with no heating and only a few blankets available to keep them warm.

On top of that, living conditions in the refugee camp are harsh, and the price of food and essential products have sky-rocketed and remain mostly unaffordable. They only have access to polluted water, which led to her mother and younger brother getting hepatitis. In the five months since the war began in Gaza, prices have gone up almost 600%.

We are extending this campaign with the hope of helping Ghada and her children gather funds to cope with their daily necessities in the refugee camp, and also helping them collect the necessary amount to evacuate Rafah, Gaza to Egypt, where they could find safety and opportunities to rebuild their story.
