Final Costs for Eddie Gregorio
Donation protected
My wife's father, Eddie Gregorio, died peacefully today of natural causes at the age of 63. He was an exceptionally hardworking husband and father, and he will be deeply missed. My wife and I named our youngest child Edward after his grandfather Eddie.
When I say that Eddie was exceptionally hardworking, that does not convey the point. Eddie was from the countryside in the Philippines, and he did not have a birth certificate. Because of this, he was unable to obtain the proper documentation to work legally, so he had to take the only job he could get, working under the table. Eddie worked from 4 AM to 8 PM six days a week for six dollars a day. This is lower than the $12 a day minimum wage in the Philippines. Some days, the family was so poor that they could not afford to eat anything but rice with a little bit of salt on it. Even still, Eddie always found a way to bring home a little treat for his children after every work shift. He would bring them a pasalubong, as it is called in the Philippines, which translates to souvenir.
Because Eddie did not have proper documentation, he does not have any type of Social Security or death benefit for his wife. They have no savings and no means to pay for his funeral costs. We are asking for anything anyone can give, no matter how small, to help cover the cost of his final expenses.
God bless you
