CANTAMUS IN ANIMO GRATO | WE SING IN GRATITUDE
Notably featuring young Filipino choristers from a variety of social backgrounds, YVP was organized to assist TCAP, a non-profit organization registered at the Security and Exchange Commission, committed to the progress of Philippine choral music. YVP is conducted and trained by internationally recognized children's choir experts Dr. Maria Theresa Vizconde-Roldan and Professor Jude B. Roldan.
YVP sings regularly at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral of Cubao. YVP also performs for diplomatic and national events. Some of these were during the Diplomatic Relations of Italy and the Philippines, and the Inauguration of the 17th President of the Republic of the Philippines.
YVP has proven their skill is a result of effort and dedication, as they have been
invited to perform in prestigious choral festivals such as the Pacific International
Choral Festival in Oregon, USA, the XVII Religare Canticus by the Brazilian
Association of Choir Singing, the International Virtual Choir Celebration Festival by
the Choral Celebration Network Foundation (CCNF) in South Africa, the
International Charity Concert by the Cantemus Choral Institute in Hungary, 3rd
World Virtual Choir Festival Closing and Awarding Ceremony and the 6th
Symposium on Church Choral Music by the Bandung Choral Society in Indonesia,
the 2022 World Choir Festival by the World Youth and Children Choral Artists'
Association, the 4th World Youth Choral Festival & Competition in Jeju, Korea, and
MUSIKAPULUAN 2022: Mga Bagong Tugtugin Natin, a recently released series
celebrating Filipino music by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts
(NCCA). YVP also took part in the celebration of the International Federation for
Choral Music (IFCM) World Choral Day 2021.
On June 30-July 3, 2023, YVP will be presenting in Voices Together: International
Choral Youth Symposium at the University of Maryland (UMD) and a culminating
performance in Clarice Smith Hall with the Children's Chorus of Washington, the
Shenandoah Valley Children's Choir, and the Toronto Children's Chorus. Following
the UMD Choral Symposium, YVP will be making history as the first Filipino
children's choir to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City on July
7, 2023. After some programmed concerts for parishes and communities, the YVP will conclude their US tour as featured artists at the Golden Gate International Festival from July 9 to 15.
As such YVP is seeking financial support to help cover the transportation costs, food, and lodging.
Among the members are children who reside in informal settlements and who unfortunately do not have the means to participate in most of the virtual activities held by the choir. These are challenging times and with live performances starting to pick up once again, the children of YVP would be truly thankful for any financial assistance you are able to offer for their upcoming US Concert Tour. Supporting the choir is ultimately a contribution to the Philippine arts and to aspiring young musicians,
which is a contribution that is sincerely appreciated.
The YVP will send 30 delegates to spend almost one month in the United States and the funds raised will be used for roundtrip airfares and accommodations where homestays are not possible.
