Fighting for joy, safety & belonging in football… for ALL

Hi, we are Manchester Laces and we’re fundraising because the world is becoming a harder place for too many people, especially for women, trans, and non-binary people.

With rising exclusion in sport, the FA’s new ban on trans women playing football, and increasing hostility across society, safe spaces are being stripped away.

Manchester Laces exists to push back.

We are here to say: you belong. Football belongs to you. Community belongs to you. You should never be on the sidelines of life or the pitch.

But keeping this space open takes time, care, money and most of all … solidarity.

That’s where you come in. We need your help to keep running inclusive football, free sessions, tournaments, and support for those who need it most.

We’re a community football club for women, non-binary and gender-diverse people. What started with a handful of players has become a thriving, vibrant community that helps over 1,200 people a year access joy, connection and safety through football.

Right now, the FA has banned trans women from playing in women’s football (a devastating and discriminatory policy). At the same time, many of our players are facing financial hardship, exclusion, and mental health struggles.

We refuse to let anyone be pushed out. Manchester Laces is a lifeline for many and we want to grow that, not shrink it.

With your support, we will:

• Run free and subsidised training sessions

• Provide boots, sports bras, and kit through our Community Kit Bag

• Cover safe pitch spaces, referees, and coaching

• Train volunteer leaders and coaches from our community

• Deliver football leagues and tournaments celebrating visibility and joy

• Offer mentoring and mental health check-ins for our players
