Hi there!
Since the coronavirus pandemic, many people in the North Country region of New York have had to rely on free meal programs to get their food. Organizations like the Campus Kitchen at St. Lawrence University have continued to serve the region by providing free to-go meals each week. Usually, Campus Kitchens relies on student volunteers to run its meals. But since students were sent home, it has relied on some dedicated staff, community members, and the small number students who have remained at the University (thank you, volunteers!)
Being situated in one of the most food insecure regions of NY, Campus Kitchens’ resources have become strained as it has increased its operations in response to the pandemic. The organization is funded by a small budget provided by the University and all other funds come from donations and grants. Since the pandemic, the organization has expanded its services by serving double the number of meals and opening an on-campus food pantry for students remaining on campus. The Campus Kitchen at St. Lawrence University is committed to continuing serving the community, especially during these times of adversity. Please consider donating to Campus Kitchens, so that it can continue fighting hunger!
Thank you for your support!
