The Fight for Justice Starts Here

My name is Hans McCarthy, and I’m taking a stand for Frog Lake First Nation band members who need legal support, advocacy, and accountability.

For too long, many of our people have faced unfair treatment, lack of access to legal representation, and leadership that isn’t held accountable. Whether it’s housing disputes, governance issues, or simply understanding our legal rights, we deserve better.

That’s why I’m creating a First Nation legal advocacy nonprofit—to give our people the tools and support they need to stand up for their rights under Canadian law and push for real accountability in our community.

Why This Matters

Like many First Nations, Frog Lake band members often struggle to access justice. Many people don’t know their legal rights, can’t afford legal representation, or feel silenced when they challenge unfair decisions.

I have personally faced challenges that have made it clear: we need an independent, community-driven organization that fights for justice—not just for me, but for all of us.

This nonprofit will:

✅ Provide legal education so band members know their rights.

✅ Help people connect with legal aid & lawyers who can assist them.

✅ Advocate for fairness & accountability when leadership makes harmful decisions.

✅ Create a Legal Defense Fund to support those who need financial help for legal cases.

The First Step: $225 to Get Started

Right now, I need just $225 to officially incorporate this nonprofit at the federal level and secure our legal name. That’s $200 for the federal incorporation fee and $25 for the NUANS name search report.

This is just the beginning. Once we’re set up, we can expand to help other First Nations dealing with the same struggles.
