Fiester Family Adoption

We are grateful and humbled to have the opportunity to adopt an infant in May. This fall, a close friend told us about a young woman in a crisis pregnancy situation. We began to pray for her and the baby.  The more we prayed for the mother, the more my heart grew attached to this baby. I wanted to offer to adopt, but it seemed unrealistic and we encouraged her to check out other options first. Meanwhile, I contacted everyone I ever knew who adopted to see what steps we would need to take. We have considered adoption before, but never thought we'd be able to afford a private adoption. Everyone I talked to encouraged me that if God wanted this baby in our family, He could make it happen.

Finally we stepped up and contacted the mother to tell her we would love for her to consider us as a possiblity for a placement. When we met her in person, we all agreed it was a good fit. We are so excited to add a baby to our growing family! Although we will save a large amount by not going through an agency, we will still have lawyer fees and the cost of a home study. We would appreciate continued prayers for our family and the mother.
