This fundraiser is to support a short field deployment to the Murgon region in Queensland to assist with an active missing person search effort.
The purpose of this trip is operational. It is not recreational travel. It is a coordinated, time sensitive effort to physically be on the ground in a regional area where information, terrain knowledge, and local engagement can meaningfully contribute to search efforts.
As a forensic scientist and criminologist with experience in cold case analysis and missing person advocacy, I am travelling with a second adult to support structured search activity, local area assessment, and information gathering in partnership with ongoing community awareness efforts.
In missing person investigations, geography and proximity matter. Being physically present in regional environments allows for:
• direct engagement with local knowledge holders
• better understanding of terrain and environmental conditions
• improved assessment of search relevant information
• support for coordinated awareness efforts on the ground
This is not speculative travel. It is a targeted deployment to support an active missing person context.
Funding breakdown
Total target: $2,500 AUD
Flights for two adults: $1,000 to $1,400
Car hire for regional access: $250 to $450
Fuel for search area movement: $100 to $200
Accommodation (2 to 3 nights): $400 to $700
Food and operational expenses: $200 to $300
Accountability
All funds will be used strictly for operational expenses related to this deployment.
Any unused funds will be:
• documented publicly
• either rolled into future search deployments or returned upon request
Transparency is a core principle of this work.
This request is for practical support to enable physical presence in a region where on the ground engagement may assist broader search and awareness efforts.
Any contribution, large or small, directly supports the ability to carry out this deployment.
