Hi, I’m Abby, the manager here at the Fiberglass Freaks’ Batman Museum. Since before we opened on October 31, 2024; we were actively pursuing a grant we still desperately need to help us preserve our beautiful-but-feeble historic building. Since the start of the grant application, the rules have changed, contacts changed hands, and we are no longer even eligible for something we’ve been strung along chasing for all of this time. All of that being said, we are shining the Bat-Signal once again, ardently asking for your help. The grant we were working towards was to replace our 46 windows. We’ve lost a few over this fall and winter from the fierce winds. Our building, but particularly the East wall, desperately needs tuck-pointing. We were just informed this past week that our furnace is not salvageable. They no longer even manufacture the parts for it. Brand new HVAC is on the list because of age and inefficiency. Gas bills are four digits for about a quarter of the year. Two severe storms ago, we lost the gable atop the roof. It is temporarily back in place, but needs properly restored. The roof is leaking around the elevator, and the company that installed it is no longer returning any calls. The balcony between the bay windows on third floor needs restored. We’ve had problems with our doors ever since we were forced to switch which direction the open from. They really just need replaced at this point.
