Helping Nat
Donation protected
Hello
I’ve created this GoFundMe, in hopes that the baseball community can come together to help Nat. Nat is a huge part of the Canes Baseball
organization and without her our boys would
not have what they need to play. She spends countless hours working behind the scenes
away from her own family.
She was attending summer tournament and
her truck was broken into while they stopped
for dinner. Unfortunately, due to the shortage
of staff, law enforcement wasn’t able to make
it a priority.
I want to be able to help start getting her
back on her feet. And I hope everyone can
come together to help out.
Below is her post from FB
What started off as the most amazing few weeks, quickly came to an abrupt end in the most heartbreaking way possible for me. All spring season I have looked forward to these last few weeks, getting to travel with several of my favorite teams, all across this part of the US. The day school let out, Brock and I traveled to Norman for a HS showcase at OU and from there I spent the next 4 days traveling with no true destination in mind. Was able to sit in some of the best seats at some of the best MLB stadiums and be a true “traveler.” After my few days of aimless travel, I drove to Branson and spent the week with some of my favorite kids. I photographed 10 very hot, very long, very fun games and in the evening, the boys would sit around my computer and talk about each and every photo! Those boys were more excited for their photos to be posted than any team ever.
Immediately after they won the championship game on Thursday evening and finished taking tons of great photos, I spent the entire night rushing to Houston for another HS showcase to photograph. I got here early yesterday morning, exhausted, but ready for the weekend. After 2 sweltering hot games, myself and some of the coaches went to TGIFridays for dinner and to wait for the bracket to post. We were inside for all of an hour, only to walk out in tears.
While we sat inside, less than 3 car lengths from my truck, some hell bound asshats shattered my truck window and stole every single physical item that meant anything and everything in this world to me. My suitcase, my camera bag, my laptop bag, all of my hard drives from the past 15 years ((every single photo of my kids, the only photos of my grandpa and his slideshow I made for his funeral)), my credit cards and all of the cash I had made or brought with me on this trip. Over $21,000 gone in a matter of seconds. Items that I have worked my entire life and career for. Items that are not covered under any insurance and that I will never see again.
We waited in the parking lot for hours, only to be told that the cops didn’t want to come and take my report because it was an hour before shift change ((gotta love Houston PD)). So after nearly 3 hours of waiting in the parking lot in tears, I drove to the police station and spent until the early morning hours giving all details I could remember.
The most heartbreaking of all was that these photos from the last 2 weeks, the photos that these kids were dying to see, that their parents trusted me to take and deliver…..are gone forever. I’ll find a way to eventually get new gear, but damn it those memories and gone forever and it makes me sick!
