FHMS Brrr-tual Polar Plunge
Donation protected
In the past 6 years, the annual FHMS Polar Plunge event raised $39,255.69 for our community members in need. Individuals pledged to raise funds for the chance to take a chilly plunge into Chautauqua Lake closely supervised by a dive team.
Due to the continued increase of COVID-19 cases, Chautauqua County’s highly anticipated Polar Plunge on February 6th has shifted to an all Brrr-tual Event for 2021. While the event may look different this year, the need for your support remains the same to keep on Freezin’ for a Reason!
The proceeds from the 2021 event will be donated to the Rosie’s Run Foundation, whose mission is to spread kindness and help as many local community members in need as possible. 2020 was an incredibly hard year for so many and we were so inspired by the kindness and generosity of this foundation we want to help them reach even more individuals and families in need.
What is the Brrr-tual Plunge?
Instead of plunging into the frigid waters of Chautauqua Lake, participants will participate in a plunge at home! Participants are asked to raise funds towards their plunge.
The rules are simple: Get cold, be safe and don’t forget to film it!
You can take the Virtual Plunge however you like! Creativity is key. Make sure you take a photo or video and post it to our event page on Facebook at 2021 Brrrtual Plunge
We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Whether you’re dipping into an ice cold bath or making swimsuit snow angels, the opportunities are endless!
Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Take a plunge into a bathtub full of ice water
- Get Sprayed with a hose
- Take a kiddie pool Plunge in your back yard
- Winter Water Balloon fight
- Swimsuit Snow Angels
- Winter Slip and Slide
- Your best idea here!
PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE AND SAFE WITH YOUR VIRTUAL PLUNGE!
The in-person Polar Plunge is safe because we have a professional dive team in the water and emergency responders on site. Do NOT attempt to jump into a lake, river or any other body of water for the Virtual Plunge. Do not do anything that could physically harm yourself or others. Family Health Medical Services is not responsible for any injuries that occur while participating in the Virtual Plunge. Additionally, we will not share photos or videos featuring dangerous or inappropriate behavior.
