FGM Fundraiser Campaign

The Girls Connection Project was started back in 2020 by Favor’22 and Emese’23 to educate and support schoolgirls in Mali. The project created a club in Mali where girls support and inspire each other. The Girls Connection Club held a fundraiser at WNA back in February 2021 where we raised over $1,000 to support these girls.

The GCP has expanded and redirected its mission this year as we are partnering with a Hungarian charity called Close to Africa to hold an anti-female genital mutilation campaign in the Malian community where our girls' club is located. We need the support of friends, alumni, teachers, parents, and students to raise money and stop FGM in this community.
