A celebration in remembrance of Dr. Christopher Holmes
Enjoy an afternoon of nature activities and good old-fashioned family fun as we honor and celebrate the life of Chris and raise money for two local causes very close to his heart.
The reintroduction of oysters to strengthen our surrounding marine environment
The establishment of scholarships at SMLI in Chris's name to ensure Port Washington’s children can enjoy educational opportunities and childcare at camps right here in their hometown. The funds donated will be equally distributed to both causes once the fundraiser is over. If you prefer your donation to go to one cause over the other please specify in the comments or contact us.
Please bring a picnic blanket to enjoy the change of seasons and the gorgeous view from our SMLI lawn.
- Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the Bubbly Bar Trailer, and food will be available from the big cheese food truck.
* Please note: the food truck will be accepting cash payments only.
Schedule:
3 pm - 4:30 pm - field day games, nature preserve activities, and nature walks
4:30 pm - Memorial Tree Planting followed by a walk to the shoreside of Manhasset Bay for a moment of remembrance.
