Fern Day

My name is Kahlil Allen. My mother was Fern Cunningham-Terry, a well known artist who specialized in various life like sculptures featured around the Boston area. She passed away August 19/20th, 2020 and Mayor Walsh established August 20th as Fern Day in Boston, Ma. Family and friends every year, on this day, have been getting together to celebrate her life and remember the wonderful contributions she has made to this city and beyond. Starting this year we would like to open this celebration to the public, especially the children, as they were my mother's central focus in cultivating her artistic abilities. This event will involve arts activities, musical performances, public speakers and of course plenty of food. We are inviting the public, regardless of present interest in the arts or knowledge of this woman. This year "Fern Day" will be held Sunday August 18th. Location is the National Center for Afro - American Artists 300 Walnut ave, Roxbury MA 02119. We are striving to reach a $5,000 goal in order to assist in making this time as eventful as possible for everyone attending. We would love for everyone interested, to spread the word and help grow this event to its full potential. Thanks everyone for the love shown in the past and present…there is more to come.
