My name is John DiMariangeli. I am the president of Ohio based moving and storage company, RLD Relocation and Logistics. It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of our driver, Glen Edward Lucas, who went to be with the Lord on 9/9/25.
Glen was traveling east on I-10 near Iowa, Louisiana, just outside of Lake Charles on his way to Mississippi to deliver the remaining loads on his trailer when his truck went off the highway and crashed into a ball of flames killing Glen instantly along with his helper “Leon”.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time pending an investigation by the Louisiana State Highway Patrol and the Surface Transportation Board. Glen's trailer was laden with military shipments for Gateway, Charter, and National Forwarding Inc. at the time of the crash.
Glen leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Mrs. Jerri Lucas, and four children who he loved deeply. Glen was a dedicated owner operator at RLD Relocation and Logistics and a lifelong mover and fellow driver in our industry. Glen will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to customer service and his positive attitude. Throughout Glen’s tenure here at RLD Relocation and Logistics, Glen has received countless five-star reviews from his customers and was recently named RLD’s Positive Performer of the Month. Over the entirety of Glen’s career as a professional mover, he has received countless awards for his service to customers and commitment to the job. Glen’s sense of humor was also a beacon of joy to all who needed a smile, if only for a moment in passing, or over a long conversation about the moving and storage industry. Glen loved sharing photos of the morning sunrises as he traveled from one state to another moving our customers' household goods. Glen's last post on Facebook was a photo of a Texas sunrise and these words:
“Good morning, America, how are we? This is my East Texas/Louisiana Sunrise” ………
We hear ya Glen, and we copy loud and clear,,, 10-4! We are reminded of how short life is and just how fleeting time can be. Glen was just 56 years old.
Please help us in raising funds for Glen's family. Our industry is large, but the community we share is each of ours to look after. Thank you to all of our network partners for understanding during this time and to all of the moving help across the US who have worked with Glen. Thank you.
