Hi,
My name is Emily and I am an Usborne Partner, my books business is 'Books For Curious Cubs'.
Connie runs 'Connie's Books For Curious Cubs' and is an Early Years specialist.
Across Teignbridge, Torbay, Exeter, Exmouth and the surrounding areas, families are facing extraordinary pressure this winter. As food bank usage continues to rise, many parents are forced to prioritise heating and meals over everything else — and sadly, books become a luxury they simply can’t afford.
But every child deserves a book to call their own.
A story to escape into.
A spark of imagination.
A moment of comfort during a tough season.
That’s why multiple Usborne Partners from our team are working together to launch Feeding Tummies & Minds — a community literacy campaign running across the South West. We’re raising funds to donate brand-new Usborne books to local food banks, so families collecting essential food parcels can also receive the gift of reading.
We will be specifically supporting:
HITS Food Bank in Kingsteignton
The Reading Rex is working Sidmouth's Community Foodbank.
Other partners are raising funds for local food banks for Torbay and Exeter - when confirmed I will share details.
Your donation will help us:
✨Provide beautiful, high-quality Usborne books for children of all ages
✨Support families experiencing financial hardship this winter
✨ Ensure children have a book of their own in time for World Book Day
✨Spread imagination, comfort and hope across our local communities
Every pound makes a real impact:
£5 gifts a child their very own book
£10 supports siblings or friends
£20 helps us donate a small collection to a family
Larger donations allow us to support multiple food banks across the region - but every £1 adds up!
Together, we can feed both tummies and minds — making sure no child misses out on the magic of reading this winter.
Thank you so much for helping us make a difference across Teignbridge, Torbay, Exeter, Sidmouth and beyond.
Your kindness will be felt by families who need it most.
