Feeding the Invisible Aggies

Tax deductible

Thanks to your support, The REACH Project is happy to announce we have handed out over 10,000 meals to date! Thanks to your generosity, we have secured funding to provide another 6,000 meals to our Invisible Aggie Family for the month of June. WHOOP!

That being said, it is our number one priority to support the REACH Family during this unprecedented time. These families in the B/CS community are depending on your support to keep them and their children fed until school starts in the Fall. We need your HELP to get us all across the finish line.

100% of the proceeds will be used to purchase meals for the REACH family. Whatever the size, your donation means the world to our team as we, as Aggies, come together to beat COVID-19. Please con

The REACH Project is proud to announce that we have handed out 8,000 meals over the last 6 weeks. This could not have been possible if it was not for the gracious support of so many community leaders here in the Brazos Valley. We are humbled to be able to share with you that on top of the numbers in this GoFundMe we were also awarded $12,500 (the top denomination), not once but twice from the Brazos Valley Covid19 Community Relief Fund.

To date we have worked with 6 local restaurants and caterers to provide REACH Family Meal Packs to the Invisible Aggies and their families. This week marks the full transition of our Invisible Aggie Families on to our coupon system, enabling each of our families to receive meals from local area favorites like The Village, Papa Perez, GoodBull BBQ, and Double Daves. As the momentum for this initiative continues to build we are considering on-boarding even more local restaurants and hope to be able to bring on even more families during these unprecedented times.

It pains me to say that these Invisible Aggies are not going to be able to return to work, at the earliest, until the start of the 2020 Fall semester. That means they will be out of work for at least another 3 months and during this time they will not know where the money to pay for rent, utilities, health care and food will come from.  Together we can help take at least one of those basic needs off their list through our REACH Family Meal Pack initiative.

The Coronavirus has taught us that these essential employees on the Texas A&M campus were essential before the pandemic. They are important during the pandemic. They will be vital to recovering after the pandemic. Together we can show them that they are part of our community and worthy of our support.

Please take a moment to share this message in a post and provide a donation to this cause. By doing this you will help tell the story of the hundreds of Invisible Aggies that need our help at this time. Don't be shy, engage your network, and challenge your classmates, let us show these Invisible Aggies what it means to be apart of the Aggie Family!

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank each and every one of you for all of your support.  We are excited to announce that we have successfully delivered 2,400 meals to the Invisible Aggies on the Texas A&M campus!

With our current donations, we can provide a REACH Family Meal Pack (4 individual meals) to 150 Invisible Aggies and their families twice a week through the month of May. This will amount to 9,600 individual meals and does not include the restaurant couponing system that will be rolled out at the end of April. WHOOP!

After much deliberation, the REACH Project has decided to expand our program so that we can provide for every Invisible Aggie on our waiting list throughout the month of May. Currently, the waiting list for the REACH Family Meal Pack initiative is 246 names long and is growing daily.

Below are some numbers to give an idea of how the additional funds would be utilized.  Help us continue to support the Invisible Aggies and reach our new goal!

· $17,000 to add an additional 100 families for the month of May

· $34,000 to add an additional 200 families for the month of May

· $42,500 to add an additional 250 families for the month of May

While most of us will recover from this public health crisis intact, many individuals in our community will not. For the Invisible Aggies at Texas A&M University, the impact of this pandemic will be catastrophic. These service providers live paycheck to paycheck and are now being furloughed & laid off in large numbers. Our neighbors will not be able to pay rent, utilities, or cell phones. They will be unable to afford food, OTC medications, and basic household supplies over the next several weeks and months.  How can we together, prevent an emergency from becoming a catastrophe?

The REACH Project has been working with the Invisible Aggies for two years now building relationships and a community. Given the current situation, we have decided to focus on one way that can have an immediate impact; a way that benefits local businesses while providing meals for the Invisible Aggies and their families. We will provide redeemable coupons for “family meal packs” sourced through our restaurant partners in the Brazos Valley.  It is our duty as Aggies and as members of the Aggie Network to acknowledge and help the Invisible Aggies.

The REACH Project hopes that you will help us raise the funds needed to feed our Invisible Aggies AND support our local restaurant industry. These uncertain times are forcing many local restaurants to cut their hours and labor, close their dining rooms, and in some cases, close their doors. In these desperate times, the REACH Community Alliance can unite our community by implementing a two-prong approach; feeding the families who take care of Texas A&M and supporting the Brazos Valley restaurants.

Please join us, our community needs your help. If you can spare, $12, $24 or $144, think of those that are too often forgotten, and donate to help The REACH Project feed our Invisible Aggies.
