“Feeding the Frontline – San Diego (SD)” is a two fold effort!
Looking for a way to support healthcare workers in our community? Within weeks, our Southern California hospitals are projected to be working beyond capacity, which means the same for those working in them. These healthcare professionals risk their personal health every day, placing our health and safety above their own wellbeing.
Now think about your favorite mom and pop eateries. Your go-to meals served by people who live and work in our community. They are currently sitting empty or closed as communities try to slow the rate of new infections. This social distancing has proven the most effective method we have; however, it puts extreme stress on many of the food spots that make up San Diego as we know it.
We will purchase large food orders from community eateries and deliver them to healthcare workers in the Southern California area at hospitals, test centers, and other related sites. Our goal is to sustain local businesses while providing a morale boost to healthcare workers on the frontline of battling the COVID pandemic in our communities. This entire mission depends upon donations and support from the community.
It may seem small, but the delivery of a cookie, burrito, or meal, could be just the pick me up someone needs today, and the profit a small business needs to stay open. Surely, we can return the favor to those eateries that have shaped our experience of what we call ‘home’.
