Feeding community members & supporting local farmers
Donation protected
Feed Peoria is a grassroots project created to simultaneously 1) support local farmers and 2) to get fresh, nutrient dense vegetables to Peorians in need. To do this, we are partnering with Henry's Farm, a family farm in Congerville, IL, and with Peoria's Neighborhood House, a local nonprofit that serves Peoria in many ways, including meals on wheels and a food pantry.
Your donation helps get 26 weeks of fresh, nutrient dense vegetables from Henry's Farm to Neighborhood House, and then to community members who would otherwise not have access to them. Our goal of $1,000 allows us to purchase 2 discounted CSA shares from Henry's Farm. (CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, and one “share” is 7 to 9 different vegetables each week for 26 weeks from the end of May through Thanksgiving.) When we reach our goal of $1000, Henry has generously agreed to donate a 3rd share to the Neighborhood House Food Pantry for FREE!
So please help us reach our goal of $1,000 so we can get THREE full CSA shares of freshly harvested vegetables to Peorians in need every week for the next 26 weeks. Your donation of any amount is deeply appreciated and will go a long way in feeding our community.
As times continue to get more difficult for most Americans, we can depend on each other to help where it counts! Any contributions over $1,000 will be donated directly to Neighborhood House to further feed families in need. Thank you for your participation and generosity!
