Feeding Canada and Community

This year Redefine Twenty is teaming alongside activist Nanook Gordon to collect donations to send to remote Northern Indigenous communities. Nanook Gordon is Inuvialuk, non-binary from Inuvik, Northwest Territories and has been organizing Feeding Canada for the past 5 years.  The goal is to send as many donations as possible to families with children, food banks, hunters and elders. Food costs have always been extremely expensive in Northern Canada. Due to the remote location of these communities, it becomes very difficult for Indigenous communities to access resources and the basic necessities like food. Buying grapes for $28 and cauliflower for $13 has become an unfortunate norm. In 2012, more than one-half (52%) of Inuit in Inuit Nunangat aged 25 and over lived in a household that experienced food insecurity in the previous 12 months. No one should have to starve due to high prices of food, especially during a pandemic. We are kindly urging you to donate whatever you can! Take a look at our donation list below and please DM us to set up a pick-up/drop off time! If you are unable to donate a physical donation, we also are accepting MONETARY donations which will cover shipping costs ($100 per box). Nanook is committed to supporting and uplifting their community and the Redefine Twenty community is here to help.

Monetary donations are most ideal and will allow for our team members to safely procure donations! All proceeds will go to donations and to cover shipping costs! Thank you for your generous donation!

Last day to donate is: November 28th, 2020
