FEEDING AND CLOTHING HOMELESSNESS

Hello Everyone my Name is Nastasia(Chef Diva) ive been a chef for 20 years and in this journey,I have ran across a plethora of people all over the world from traveling and cooking. I moved to houston texas 10 years ago and fell in love 7 years ago..2 years into our relationship he got in 2 car accidents, where he couldnt work, walk or anything!! How could I leave my person right,so we sacrificed gave up both our apartments being down to one car and moved into an extended stay for 7 months while he was in rehab and i wrote a book..by the grace of GOD the chiropractors office was 3 buildings over. We had one car,so it worked out perfectly for me to get to work. We weren't homeless this was a decision we made..it was $1600 a month to stay. As we went along we met so many families, who were displaced by storms, family deaths, parents kicked them out and more! So i started collecting goods and items from different people I knew,to help those in transition. Whether it was extra blankets, clothing etc everything helped. As my fiance got better,he said all these people have money to live here, they are just waiting for their homes..lets help the people who live outside and dont have nickel to eat,too get water, who has to find shelter under bridges in the rain etc..these people have roofs and jobs..the ones outside dont. So we started cooking meals, and collecting clothes items for them as team..once he got better we moved into a one bedroom turned into an airbnb and then moved into a two bedroom home and lived there..he then wanted to start helping men who were coming out of jail,to learn skills and get jobs as he did. Being we are both chefs our industry allows second chance positions, without a background check in certain places like restaurants, bars etc. So we started guiding and teaching people how to be in interviews, what to say, what not to say,how to sit,how to dress for them and all. As time went on,we were working and using our own money! I said I know it has to be people, out here who would love to help but dont know where to start. So we can be the source to start and then tradegy struck..on June 24,2022 my fiance passed away in his sleep from cardiac arrest..worst day of my life..he was so full of life,I was devastated and I knew there was no way for me to go on. The support and love from my friends and family help me pull through..and one night I said to myself. If I dont pull myself together,im going to end up outside. So I decided to turn my pain into a purpose! 2 years ago, I reached out to business owners, neighbors, friends, family asking for clothes, food, toothbrushes, soap toothpaste and more. I asked for volunteers to help me serve these people. If you know the Kensington area in Philadelphia then you know,a lot of people speak about it but don't go and see..its a zombie land but they are still people! For 2 days we went and fed them hot food frm multiple restaurants and some of my chef friends and I prepared hot food as well..not only did they get hot food,we made bags of fruit and salad for replenishing. If they didnt have water,I got a uhual truck and collected over 40 bags of clothes. Whether people showed up or not it was going to get done! Well we know GOD is good when doing his work. We had so many volunteers for both days,it made it all worth doing! As the homeless came along,I asked them questions on how they got that way, what made them start doing drugs? Most said they lost family members, didnt have family or got in bad accidents and nobody kept up their homes etc. So they had nowhere to go or anyone to turn to,the drugs made them feel good. One thing I learned about pain of losing someone because I felt like I wanted to die,it doesn't last forever. I also had a family member,I was trying to save suffering from pain of losing his brother and sister..Whether u drank, smoked or popped pills the person will never come back, some people wont grieve and pain eats them alive, causing high blood pressure, vertigo and more serious symptoms. Did u know broken heart syndrome is a real thing? I said to myself, I have been there,I know what your feeling and how you are feeling. If we didnt have support of each other and close friends n family. I too would have been under a bridge with a needle in my arm. Now in 2025,the movement is being continued, I have found multiple recovery homes to donate clothes, food and essentials to. Im creating a platform where they can feel safe to get a hot meal, toiletrie bag(soap, washcloth, toothepaste, toothbrush, deodorant) and groups of people who actually understand them. I want to keep this movement going for males and females. I volunteer my services of being a chef contributing to making meals, but I have chef friends all over who want to be apart of this too. So im asking everyone for $20 more or less to donate to the cause. This will allow bulk shopping for essential items,as well as shirts, underwear, bras, food, pans, ingredients and all to serve the community! Ive been doing it from the muscle for a long time. So if u been through something and understand what others are going through in a compassionate way. Please help me,help them. I want to create a directory of pantries, churches, housing etc for those who want to start living again! Its a process and it takes a lot of patience. So ur helping others,to keep giving too others as well.
