Twin Cities Feed our Frontline, Fund our Fooderies

During these unprecedented times, the healthcare workers of the Twin Cities are working long hours every day to keep our community healthy.  COVID-19 has significantly changed the way that we are all living our lives. Healthcare workers have been particularly hard hit, as they have put the health of their patients ahead of their own personal well being. Many are also dealing with a sudden lack of childcare or a partner who has lost employment. We want to acknowledge and support the hard work that they are doing under extremely stressful circumstances. We want to offer them a night off of cooking, and a delicious meal from a local restaurant. 

The economic impact of this pandemic has been felt at so many levels. Local restaurants are facing tremendous loss of revenue due to COVID-19. Hardworking staff are being furloughed or laid off and owners are struggling with the reality that the restaurants that they've poured their hearts and souls into may become another casualty of this pandemic. These restaurants are a vital part of our cities, providing employment for many, and bringing joy and nourishment to us all. 

We intend to use 100% of all donations to buy $50 gift cards to small, locally owned restaurants that are offering delivery or curb-side pickup. We have been in contact with the COVID-19 Incident Command Center at M Health Fairview about donating these gift cards for distribution to front line healthcare workers including nurses, respiratory, physical and occupational therapists, environmental services workers and the myriad other staff working around the clock to keep our population healthy and safe at the M Health Fairview Bethesda Hospital which will be the main facility taking care of COVID-19 patients.
