Thanksgiving is a special, festive day all across our country, and being thankful is an essential part of Judaism, as is evident from the many blessings Jews recite, each of which is a declaration of thanks for a gift we are blessed to have.

One group that we should be particularly thankful for are the men and women of our police departments that work to keep our families and communities safe, and they do so 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Particularly as Jews, in a time when, sadly, there is no shortage of threats to our security, we are deeply appreciative of those that are committed to our safety.

The "Feed the Force" Thanksgiving program is an excellent opportunity to put our feelings of appreciation into action. Please lend your support by contributing to help send a delicious meal to the staff on duty on Thanksgiving.
