I’ve proudly worked as an administrative coordinator for UNC Infectious Diseases for the past 25 years and have witnessed our physicians and research faculty work tirelessly during the extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the most demanding and dangerous jobs is being fought by our Emergency Department, physicians and nurses working exhausting 12 hour shifts on the front lines. They are away from their families and struggle every day with the worry of bringing the virus home to loved ones. Let’s lift the spirits of our health care heroes and provide them with meals as they continue to fight for all of us. Through my position at UNC I’ve also worked with local caterers and restaurants in Chapel Hill and Carrboro and hope to help as many people as we can who have been impacted by COVID-19. Together, we can show solidarity by supporting our health care workers while providing business to restaurants suffering economically as well. The plan is to supply daily meals to as many different departments as possible.
Through Feed the COVID Strong - Chapel Hill, NC. Our goal is to raise $30,000 in order to show our support of the physicians and staff working diligently on the COVID-19 crisis. 100% of the money raised will be used to buy meals from Chapel Hill and Carrboro restaurants and caterers who are also reeling from the Coronavirus pandemic.
Here’s how to help:
1. Whether its $1 or $1,000 dollars, it doesn’t matter- any amount is appreciated and helps. Make you contribution today and help those helping us.
2. Do your part, stay inside and social distance. This is not a joke, it’s not a drill, it’s the most serious global crisis that has ever happened to any human being alive today. Please do not take it lightly.
I, Kathy James will use a debit card for purchases from the newly created Feed the COVID Strong account. Every dollar spent and every receipt will be accounted for by the Feed the COVID Strong accounting team who work with me at UNC Infectious Diseases.
