Every day volunteers gather to help orphaned and homeless children in the city of Kampala, Uganda. Around 100 children come each day for a meal. Donations are needed to provide meals every day.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions in Uganda, families who would normally support this cause with money or food cannot leave their homes to help. The Ugandan government does not provide aid to orphaned and homeless children, instead they fine individuals for providing food to them.
Volunteers are in dire need of continuous donations so they can feed the ~100 hungry children who arrive each day.
The main foods cooked for the children are:
- Rice
- Posho (maize)
- Sweet Potatoes
- Beans
- Green Banana
And if there is some extra money, volunteers may purchase some fresh fruit like pineapples.
Volunteers also provide social connections essential to the well-being and survival of these children.
Love Nature Child and Youth Foundation relies 100% on donations to buy food and cook food for these vulnerable children. It costs around AUD$100 to feed the 100 children per day.
Please donate today to feed hungry and homeless children in Uganda. We are so grateful for all donations - large or small!
