COVID 19 has severely impacted so many small businesses in San Diego and tens of thousands of people have been laid off. At Breakfast Republic (and our restaurant group Rise & Shine Hospitality) we have decided to make it our main objective to feed laid off workers and frontline medical workers during this pandemic.
We started providing free meals out of Breakfast Republic's Mission Valley location to laid off hospitality workers on March 24th, two days later we extended the free meals to anyone who has lost their job in San Diego. Being moved by the overwhelming positive feedback and what so many others were doing to help our healthcare workers we expanded our efforts by starting to deliver free meals to medical workers who are on the frontline fighting this pandemic.
We committed $45,000 to do this endeavor. As of April 10th we've depleted more than half of this amount and are proud to say we've donated over 3,300 meals. We would like to keep this going until the pandemic is over and businesses like ours are allowed to safely reopen.
Any donation helps! We're in this together!
100% of donations (less the 2.9% and $0.30 per donation transaction fee) will go directly to preparing these meals.
