Feed the Valley Regional Hospital Frontline, Build our local Businesses
Annapolis Valley, NS, CA
When hospital staff are asked what they need most during the current situation, the comment of protective gear, a safe place and decent food is heard. While the Covid-19 pandemic plays havoc with our feelings of safety, our education system, and our sources of income, it is the front line workers of all varieties who are facing the most alarming changes to their environments. They are facing difficulties that we can not imagine and yet they have clearly told us that they are going to work for us, and we must stay home for them.
At the same time, our local service industries are shutting down, laying off workers and closing doors. Many of our favorite cafes, pubs, restaurants and mom-and-pop operations may not survive this necessary closure.
The hope in this message is that we can join hands in helping our local neighbors as well as our small business owners and employees for our varied and valued staff at Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville, NS.
An account has been set up and all funds raised and deposited to this account will be used to purchase snacks, treats, hot drinks, pizzas, salads, lunches, and other similar items from local small businesses to financially help the small business employers of our communities while also supporting the front line workers who could, no doubt, use a kind gesture. Contacts have been made for important directions about appropriate and allowed meals or snacks during the breaks for the large variety of staff members at the hospital. Should there be an excess of funds, donations to local food-banks, shelters, and other local supports may be made.
