Hello FRIENDS!!!
My name is Julie Kwon and I’m excited to launch FEED FAIRFAX FIREFIGHTERS with your support!!!
In the past few weeks, I’ve witnessed individuals and communities all over the world making efforts to support and to cheer on essential and frontline workers, many risking their lives and their family's lives to combat this crazy pandemic. Among these heroes are my husband, Jason Kim, his crew at Station 30, and 1,400 of their colleagues in the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department of northern Virginia.

The following are examples of unfortunate and devastating emergencies that our firefighters are responding to during this pandemic. Photos courtesy of @ffxfirerescue:
April 10, 2020: Overturned vehicle on 495N just prior to Rte66 / One person was extricated and transported to hospital with minor injuries.
April 4, 2020: House fire in Centreville, VA / 5 occupants self-evacuated and displaced.
March 12, 2020: Garden apartment fire in Belle Haven, VA / 11 individuals rescued including 1 baby / 24 occupants displaced.
As you can imagine, even with their uniforms and PPE, these ongoing emergency calls increase the exposure and risk of contracting the virus.
To show my love and appreciation for their continued commitment and service during these unprecedented times, I was inspired to launch this local initiative to provide a nutritious and delicious meal to every single Fairfax County firefighter risking his or her life to protect and save ours.
At the same time, I hope to help sustain and support a few of my favorite local restaurants that have suffered the economic blow of this pandemic. These partner restaurants are grateful for our first responders and are excited to fuel our heroes!
My goal is to raise $20,000 to serve at least 1 meal to each of the 1,400 firefighters of Fairfax County, Virginia. The cost will be about $10-$15 per individually packaged meal. 100% of funds will go directly to these businesses.
Let’s show some love to our Fairfax County heroes!!! I know these are tough financial times for many of us, but any contribution, big or small, will support this endeavor!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
