My name is Juvani Mupene. I was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and later relocated to Birmingham, UK. No matter where life has taken me, my heart has always remained with my people back home.

This fundraiser is part of a long-term initiative called Year of Congo a mission dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and young people in the DRC through food, education, and opportunity.

What this donation will be used for

All funds raised through this campaign will go through our project and be used transparently to:

• ️ Feed hungry children and families in vulnerable communities

• Build and support proper schools, including financial literacy education

• ⚽ Support young people through sports, including football kits and youth development

• Provide care and support for children affected by poverty

This is not a short-term gesture. It is about creating lasting impact.

Why this matters

The DRC is one of the richest countries in the world in natural resources, yet many of its people live in extreme poverty. Children are denied education, and young people lack structure, opportunity, and hope.

I believe change begins with action.

Recently, a video of me speaking about one day running for the presidency of the Democratic Republic of the Congo went viral. While that vision is for the future, this project is about action today serving the people, building trust, and creating real change on the ground.
