Please consider donating so that Max Manyak and I will be able to participate in a week long medical mission trip to Honduras through One World Surgery and Dr. Mary and Michael Hannon (ND '02). The surgery center we are volunteering at was founded in 2008 by Peter and Lulu Daly and their mission is to provide high-quality surgical and primary care for those who have little to no access to modern medicine. The surgical center is located on the 2,000 acre ranch of the children’s home Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) which is an orphanage that is home over 400 children. In addition to serving in a medical capacity, we will also have the opportunity to spend time with the children on the ranch during the days and in the evenings. We are hoping to also gather some equipment to give a lacrosse clinic to the local youth who have never heard of the sport before.
It would be a blessing and an honor to join the Hannon's and their group as they make their trip down to Honduras from July 27th to August 3rd this year. In the spring we will be graduating from the University of Notre Dame with business masters degrees and will be playing our last year collegiate lacrosse. Following this trip, I will be starting my first year at the USC Keck School of Medicine where I aim to become an orthopedic surgeon. Anything you can give to cover the cost of the trip ($2,000 each) would be certainty directly benefiting those in need and anything beyond the initial goal will be donated to One World Surgery or put towards lacrosse equipment for the clinic. I have linked their website and a video of a group who went on a very similar trip with One World Surgery. Thank you for your consideration!
